  A Self-Portrait

Now an energetic 52 years of age, I was born in Tripoli, Libya where my father served with the British Army. On the warm shores of the Mediterranean I learned to swim by the age of nine months (apparently before I could walk) and, with definite help, rode a camel at age two.

Several years on I began a university degree in experimental psychology, but discovered (observing ducks on turntables) how little of ourselves was truly understood. I became convinced that my path led elsewhere. Seeking to shift directions completely, I auditioned for a course in dance and movement amongst other things, but ultimately settled on a condensed apprenticeship in carpentry and joinery, establishing a successful business in London.

Later, while pursuing meditation and yoga I was introduced to an international charitable organisation, leading to another major shift, eventually into HR and management roles, with twenty delightful years working in the USA and India. My time in India revealed the profound depths of spirituality which have existed there for thousands of years, and the exalted understanding of human psychology which India's ancient sages possessed.

Since my early years I have travelled in every continent, been through the Panama canal; worked on an aboriginal reserve in Darwin, Australia; seen the Pyramids; lived ten years in India, ten years in America; sailed the Pacific via Fiji; seen the live volcano on Hawaii's big island and climbed Mount Fuji in Japan.

Through all this and more, I have learned that the most significant, exciting and difficult journey we each face is the one within ourselves. The quality of our inner journey is reflected outwardly, daily, like it or not, impacting everything we do. Sadly it is often the one area where we have the least guidance and support.

Nonetheless, I am thoroughly excited - about the great value of coaching, and about life - on a daily basis; about what we can and must do together, in our relationships, our businesses, our world. How much there is to accomplish, to enjoy and be grateful for!

As a coach I am comfortable with the creative tension that often precedes personal breakthroughs so I will not rush you when you need time, but I do not hesitate to encourage or gently push when that form of support is appropriate to achieve more than you thought to ask of yourself.

You are taking a significant step by considering coaching, as are a growing number of people today. Find what you like doing; experience things as fully as you can; continue to learn and develop; be courageous enough to fail sometimes and wise enough to seek help when you need it; but most of all, be an inspiration to yourself and those you touch.

Now, if you aim to walk elegantly, plunge fearlessly or soar gracefully into a bright new future and want an experienced coach whose style is warm, humorous, practical and results oriented,

  Our Culture and Coaching Principles

LifeStar Coaching is founded on straightforward and clear principles. These entail showing great care and respect for each individual and relying on inner wisdom and intuition rather than outside directed, 'expert' answers as the source of a client's progress towards an extraordinary life.

We do not tell our clients what is best for them - we have the certainty that they possess this knowledge already. They are the ones with the power, the answers, and the ability to change their own lives. We strive to help uncover the highest aspirations within each client while seeking to transform those wishes into a day-to-day, tangible reality. The individual success of every client is important to us.

We assist clients in expanding and focusing their resources and directing them wherever they need them to go; redesigning an ideal life for themselves and building a successful way ahead. We regularly review client feedback and current coaching case studies in our ongoing research into best practice.

Ultimately, success comes from within. This is true for individuals, teams and businesses. We are coaching specialists. Coaching is what we do. Call us today to see how coaching could transform your life.
